The paradox of our time in history is that we have too many writings, but too little learning; too many ideas, but too little actions; too many takers, but too few givers.

SYRIAN

I have survived the hordes of thousand invaders and I looked upon the dry bones of a thousand empires and I outlasted them all.  I am Syria, where human history and civilization started and where civilization is everlasting.

AMERICAN

A shining city upon a hill.  Give me liberty or give me death.  Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves; and under the rule of a just God, cannot long retain it.  They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety
